Jon turns the clay on his potter's wheel. He find his inspiration in the traditional Korean pottery and in particular the Moon Jar.
He uses small self-made chattering tools to create a unique design leaving wavy surfaces unlike the smooth surfaces usually sought in pottery.
The use of slips allows him to improve the appearance and texture of his pieces, creating uniform layers and preparing them for the application of glazes before or after chattering.
Each pot is covered with its wooden lid turned on a wood lathe. Each piece is unique. Its design is often inspired by the architecture found in certain Asian countries.
The wood comes either from certified sustainable forestry or it is recycled.
The marriage of clay and wood, two primary elements, for an incomparable result.
