Pastels
Original Works
Pastels drawings are mainly done on a grainy or velvety paper such as Canson mi-teinte, Pastelcard or Pastemat.
Pastels are either hard or soft dry chalks in the form of sticks, pencils and pan pastels.
Tools such as brushes, sponges and stumps are used to refine a line or smooth certain details.
The drawing is set on an easel to allow the pigment dust to fall off the paper without damaging the work in progress.
Depending on the paper, once completed the work can be sprayed with a Fixatif or not. The pastel drawing will then be framed under glass.
Each original work is available as a Fine Art Giclée Print. They are signed, numbered and printed in a limited edition. A certificate of authenticity is also available.
What is a Giclée Print?
Giclée printing, also known as fine art inkjet printing, is a very high quality digital reproduction of an original work or painting.
Fine Art giclée printing on canvas or artistic paper allows us to reproduce works very faithfully to get as close as possible to the original through the rendering of the colors and texture of the canvas.
Giclée printing requires a special inkjet printer that uses acrylic, oil or ink paints. This reproduction process results in an extremely high level of color and image accuracy.
The shelf life of a giclée print depends on the quality of the ink and media used. Typically, a giclée print can last up to 100 years or more. However, using premium museum-quality media, such as cotton-based, acid-free Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, shelf life can be up to 200 years.
